We are a group of highly-trained Registered Dietitian-Nutritionists and New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionists with specialties ranging from prenatal nutrition to pediatric nutrition to eating disorders.
Though our backgrounds and experiences are diverse, we all share the same expert nutrition knowledge and passion for helping others transform their lives through food and lifestyle change.
Leah Wolofsky, MS, RD, CDN, Esq,
Leah Wolofsky is a registered dietitian-nutritionist, licensed NYS attorney, and an authority in the area of dietetics-nutrition practice and the law.
She started Boro Park Nutrition (now more broadly called The Dietitian Group) from counseling clients out of her living room back in 2014. Her warm, friendly and down-to-earth personality grew an overwhelming clientele and soon led her to expand the business and hire other dietitians.
Leah is a nationally-renowned expert in the area of the practice of nutrition and the law and nutrition practice regulation both within and across state lines as well as in CDR credentialing standards and guidelines.
She is also an accomplished author and speaker. Her speaking engagements have included many well-known dietetic internship programs, college campuses, and community organizations. She has authored her first book, A Brand New You (Menucha Publishers) in 2018.
Leah’s mission is to ensures the dietitian group remains true to its vision no matter how big it grows—to provide a personal non-intimidating atmosphere to help clients surpass their nutritional goals.
When not counseling clients or running the business, Leah enjoys spending time with her husband and baby Daughter.
Dina Schachter, RDN, CDN
Dina Schachter is a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist, a New York State certified dietitian-nutritionist and a graduate of the Priority Nutrition Care Dietetic Internship program.
Prior to joining The Dietitian Group, Dina worked as a secretary in a medical office. She also worked with individuals with disabilities through Ohel/Bais Ezra. She is passionate about helping others achieve their goals through nutrition counseling and motivating clients to make changes.
When not counseling clients, Dina can be found cooking/baking, traveling/hiking, spending time with family and friends, etc.
Brochi Newman, CDN, CPT
Brochi Newman is a highly-respected, results-driven, New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist. She has over 8 years of experience servicing adults and children in the Orthodox Jewish Community. Her areas of expertise include weight management, thyroid management, pediatric nutrition, and pre and postnatal nutrition.
In addition, Brochi is a Personal Trainer certified by the American College of Sports Medicine who incorporates exercise and personal training in her approach to achieve and maintain total-wellness.
Brochi resides in the Five-Towns with her husband, two sons and a daughter, and a turtle named Spike.
Elana Sturm MS, RDN, CDN
Elana Sturm is a registered dietitian-nutritionist, a New York State certified dietitian-nutritionist and a graduate of Brooklyn College with a Master of Science in Nutrition.
Prior to joining The Dietitian Group, Elana completed her dietetic internship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where she then began her career working as a clinical dietitian. She specializes in eating disorders, disordered eating, diabetes and pediatric nutrition and is passionate about helping others disconnect from a history of disordered eating, in order to begin a new healthy lifestyle centered around balance, moderation and body positivity.
When not counseling clients, you can find Elana whipping up something tasty in the kitchen, staying active with dance and yoga, playing guitar or piano, or traveling on a new adventure with a good book in tow.
Karen Wright, MS, CDN
Karen Wright is a New York state certified dietitian-nutritionist and a graduate of University of Western States with a Master’s in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine.
In addition to being part of Boro Park Nutrition team, Karen works as a nutritionist at Metro Integrative Pharmacy. Her experience includes working with the fireman, police officers and rescue workers affected by September 11th World Trade Center attacks. She is passionate about helping people transform their health through delicious foods, movement and by detoxifying their living environment.
Karen specializes in environment and functional nutrition and is the author of the book “Is It Mold? A Holistic Approach to Managing a Commonly Overlooked Condition.” Karen actively researches the role that toxins play in the health and seeks solutions to resolve those issues.
When not counseling clients, Karen can be found folding modular origami or continuing with her professional studies.
Mia Levy, MS, RDN, CDN
Mia Levy is a registered dietitian-nutritionist, a New York State certified dietitian-nutritionist and a graduate of Brooklyn College.
Prior to joining The Dietitian Group, Mia worked as a clinical dietitian in a long-term care and rehabilitation facility. She specializes in gastrointestinal disorders, diabetes, and renal disease. She is passionate about research in all of the latest nutrition information while integrating it into helping others understand their nutritional needs.
When not counseling clients, Mia can be found doing pilates and spending time with friends and family.
Laura Silver, MS, RDN, CDN
Laura Silver is a registered dietitian-nutritionist and a New York State certified dietitian-nutritionist with a master’s degree in clinical nutrition from New York University. She also completed her bachelor’s in nutrition and food science at the University of Maryland.
In addition to being part of The Dietitian Group, Laura provides weight loss counseling to veterans at the Bronx VA Hospital and works with private clients in her own nutrition practice. She specializes in weight loss counseling, healing people’s relationship with food, and managing digestive disorders. Laura is deeply passionate about helping people enjoy real, whole foods in the context of their busy lives – without compromising on the foods they love – to feel their best long-term.
When not counseling clients, you can find Laura spending time with her friends and family, cooking a delicious meal, or taking on a different outdoor adventure – whether that’s longboarding, mountain biking, snowboarding, or something new.
Chaya Sara Klug/Lehmann, RDN, CDN
Chaya Sara Klug is a registered dietitian-nutritionist, a New York State certified dietitian-nutritionist and a graduate of Brooklyn College.
Prior to joining The Dietitian Group, Chaya Sara worked as a piano and vocal instructor. She has experience in Diabetes and Celiac disease. She is passionate about helping people achieve their health and weight goals.
When not counseling clients, Chaya Sara can be found reading and spending time with family.
Mary Hall, MS, RDN, CDN
Mary Hall is a registered dietitian-nutritionist, a New York State Certified Dietitian Nutritionist, and a graduate of a combined program with the James J. Peters VA Medical Center Dietetic Internship and New York University (NYU). She graduated with a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition.
Prior to joining The Dietitian Group, Mary worked as a Clinical Dietitian with HHS and is currently the Clinical Nutrition Manager at The Brooklyn Hospital. She specializes in medical nutrition therapy, helping patients and clients achieve their goals through evidence-based practice, and understanding the benefits of eating whole foods without feeling deprived of any food group! Mary is passionate about helping clients achieve their personalized goals, improving their relationship with food and themselves, and shedding light on some of the myths surrounding today's diet culture.
When not counseling clients, Mary can be found travelling, spending time with friends and family and trying new restaurants around the city.
Esti Rosner, RDN, CDN
Esti Rosner is a registered dietitian-nutritionist, and a graduate of Brooklyn College.
Prior to joining The Dietitian Group, Esti has counseled patients in various settings including long term care facilities, Wic offices and Specialty Settings. She specializes in counseling patients for weight loss. She is passionate about helping her clients achieve healthier lifestyles, by recommending personalized diets for each individual.
When not counseling clients, Esti is taking care of her three children and trying to cook healthy for them. She can be found playing guitar or exercising on the treadmill.
